Welcome to On Good Work, a production of LakeLight Institute. On this show, we talk with people about the good work they do, what they love and what they wish they could change, where they see hope and where they meet God in their daily work. My name is Ben Dockery. Thank you for learning with us.

The average person today spends 90,000 to 100,000 hours of their lives in a working environment. It's the largest bucket of time or largest investment in most people's lives. So does God have a plan for most of your life? Does he care how you live in this arena? Well, we are convinced that our work, both paid and unpaid efforts, are central to God's plan to love our neighbor, steward the gifts and relationships he's given us.

and even the primary place that God is forming us spiritually. Work surfaces questions of identity and meaning, what we love, what we prioritize. It often reveals what our goal truly is, what we seek first, to use a phrase from Jesus. And today there is confusion and angst about the workplace. There's great reward and great opportunity, but there's also deep distrust and deep anxiety about the working lives that we live.

There's no question that AI and a 24-7 globalized economy create complexity and few boundaries for most people. Now, thankfully, there's some amazing resources already out there to connect faith and work. And this show will highlight some of those great resources. But primarily, it's designed to talk with marketplace leaders and some thought leaders about their own attempts to live integrated, wholehearted lives at work. So you can expect to learn about new industries, meet some amazing people.

hear their struggles and their successes, as well as gain a couple life hacks that they use to make their working lives work. I hope you enjoy these interviews as much as I do. Finally, we want to make sure that you do not subscribe. That will ensure that you forget next month's interview. Don't tell any of your friends or share this podcast with any of your colleagues.
